Books Are Stepping Stone to Knowledge!

From the time we are in the womb, we begin to learn as our parents read and talk to us before we are born. Without a doubt, We did, Our children did, and Yours probably did too. The gifts of READING have proven to be fundamentally beneficial in all areas of life.

From the beginning of time, we learn so much from reading. Next, we learn to communicate both verbally and with written words. Sharing that knowledge from generation to generation. The way and how may change with time, but there will always be book reading.

Undoubtedly I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. It is part of what has made me successful in my blogging venture. Reading research and write to help my patrons find what they are looking for and desire. On the other hand, it gives you ideas you didn’t even know you wanted. Subsequently, I found some great information on why Reading is Important and want to share it with you.

Keeping Teens Engaged In Reading

One way I get the older kids to read is with Manga. Basically, they are comics/graphic novels. This writing style was created in Japan using the Japanese language back in the mid to late 19th century. Some of the Hot Manga are Naruto, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer and, My Hero Academia. Importance Of Reading!

Have you ever had a child ask, “Why Do I Have To Read”? Obviously wondered why reading is so important when there is so much more to do with their time. That 30 minute daily reading for school was torture for most. Am I right? But Reading is important for a variety of reasons. We will look at some of the fundamental reasons. Just remember that struggling with vital reading skills is not a sign of low intelligence.

For example, the book “The Teacher Who Couldn’t Read” wrote about John Corcoran’s life and his struggles with reading. In fact, he was a brilliant man. He graduated from High School. Then from College, becoming a popular High School teacher. Later in life became a very successful businessman, all without being able to read. Along with many intelligent people have struggled with reading. Most people can learn to read quickly and easily if they are properly taught.

Finally, if John Corcoran can succeed without reading? This is why you should read his book and pass it on to others to read. Our children can really benefit from this book. Reading Mr. Corcoran’s story to get the feeling of the shame, loneliness, and fear that he experienced before he learned to read. This is why is reading is so important! John succeeds despite his handicap. His determination and ability to overcome his inability to read were captivating. But, make no mistake, it was a handicap that made life harder and less enjoyable but can be overcome. Please express the importance of reading to all.

Fundamental Importance Of Reading?

First – Reading is fundamental to function in daily activities. Unfortunately, many adults cannot read the simplest of instructions. Suck as their prescription, road signs, or cooking instructions. Filling out an application is impossible without help. Many Day-to-day activities become a source of frustration, anger, and fear. Meanwhile, most of us take Day-to-Day activities for granted.

Second – Reading is a vital skill in finding a good job. Most jobs require reading as part of job performance. As a cashier, you must be able to read the screen on the register. Waitresses must be able to read the menu and read the food tickets. A person is limited in what they can accomplish without even basic reading and comprehension skills.

Third – Teaching reading to children helps them develop the necessary language and reading skills needed to have healthy communication in life. In fact, you can learn as an adult if you fell through the crack as a child. It also helps us learn to listen. Everybody talks but very few really listen. We should keep our brains functioning by reading daily no matter what age we are.

Reading Fundamentals For all

Finally, why is reading important? It is how we discover the world. We discover through books, magazines, and even the Internet. These are all great learning tools that require the ability to read and understand what is to read. Suppose you know how to read. Basically, you can educate yourself in any area of life that you are interested in. We live in an age where we have an overflow of information at our disposal, but reading is the main way to take advantage of it. So start reading or teaching those who are less fortunate to read today!

Reading Develops The Imagination

Reading develops the imagination. Along with learning, we need fun and amusement. Amusement comes from two words. First “a” [non]. Then “muse” [think]. Amusement is a non-thinking activity. With reading, a person can go anywhere in or out of the world. You can be anything you desire through imagination: a king, an adventurer, a princess. Ultimately the possibilities are endless. Non-readers will never experience the joys of reading to the same extent. Reading helps our creative senses. It makes us wonder, think, expand our abilities.

Reading Is Fundamental

Reading is fundamental in developing good self-esteem. Nonreaders or poor readers often have low self-esteem—question their abilities. Many feel as if the world is against them. They feel isolated. Sometimes behavior problems can surface. They tend to perform poorly in other subjects mainly because they can’t read or understand the material. So they tend to “give up.”

Why is reading important? Improves reading skills, especially in a phonics reading program. Improve spelling as students learn to sound out letters and words, making spelling easier. Also, reading helps to expand the vocabulary. I read a new word every day from the dictionary to improve my vocabulary. Reading new words puts them in our minds for later use. Seeing different contexts of a word can give you a better understanding of the usage and definitions of the word. Better than the cold facts of a dictionary.

There is an old saying, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” Ideas written down have changed the destiny of men and nations for better or worse. Writing flow of ideas cannot be stopped. Reading and research can build on good ideas and expose the bad ideas before they bring destruction. Only reading can we arm yourselves in this never-ending, life-and-death struggle.

The fact, the power of written ideas is communicated through reading. This is why some governments oppose free and honest communication. Thus making illiterate people easily controlled and manipulated. Because they cannot do their own research or thinking, they rely on what they are told. Meaning their emotions are most likely swayed. This is one of the main reasons phonics was removed from schools about 100 years ago.

Reading Books Is Important

Finally, Reading is important because it develops the mind. The mind is a muscle. It needs exercise. Understanding the written word is one way the mind grows. Reading is important! No matter if words are spoken or written. They are the building blocks of life. What you become in the future will depend on the words you believe about yourself now. People, families, relationships, and even nations are built on words. Think about it.

According to Jonathan Kozol in “Illiterate America,” quoted in “The Teacher Who Couldn’t Read,'” the three main reasons people give for wanting to read are:

1. To read the Bible,
2. To read books and newspapers, and
3. To help their children.

I think everyone can conclude that reading is a vital skill! Reading Strategies are also a part of learning to read.
